Princes of Rock
by Suke

Hoi! I admit. I really like this one because it's Mizuki. I think of all the POT characters, my favourite to write are Mizuki, Shinji and Eiji, and maybe a racket-wielding Taka-san ^_^

Thank you to all those who reviewed! Personal notes at end ^_^

Chapter 3: Mizuki is Evil

----------

Fuji Yuuta: Fuji Syusuke's Otouto (Dec 7, 2003, Sunday -- From the Inui files)

This punk rocker, who recently crossed over from the classical music scene, has seen astounding success for a newcomer. After garnering three best newcomer awards from the AMA, Grammies and MTV for his first album, "Call Me Yuuta", Fuji Yuuta has since gone on a wildly popular tour in Asia. Best known for his earnest lyrics and honest real life style, he is slowly emerging from the shadow of his older brother, the World Famous Tensai Tenor, Fuji Syusuke.

Fuji Syusuke is a classical musician who has somehow gained cult status. He has captured the hearts of people the world over since his debut at 5 years of age. His beauty, his ever smiling gentle countenance, his friendliness and kindness, his terrifyingly immense talent all contribute towards his legend. And then, there is his greatest instrument: his voice. It is at once subtle and powerful, both harsh and gentle, offering, giving and then snatching away. They say that he sings with the voice of an angel.

Apparently, the otouto is yet to surpass the aniki because any reference to Fuji is always immediately linked to Fuji Syusuke.

"What do you want?" The cute scruffy-headed boy snapped into the receiver of his cellular phone.

His free hand unconsciously moved to catch in and make a mess of his short brown hair as he paused and listened to the voice on the other side of the line. His mouth formed into a hard, thin line.

"It's --" Yuuta was cut off, "No --", "okay but --", "he --", "I can't --". His face contorted as he tried unsuccessfully to get a word in. And then, he sighed in resignation.

"Goodbye."

Yuuta stared vindictively at his phone before stuffing it into the front pocket of his faded jeans. And then he turned his glare on the frozen occupants of the room, eyes wide and all on him. Ch, these reporter types were so annoying. Didn't they know it was rude to stare? And couldn't they at least pretend not to be listening to his phone conversation?

The door to the room swung open and suddenly Mizuki Hajime swept in imperiously like a breath of fresh wind. He cast one glance at the immobile reporters and another at Yuuta's pout before heading purposefully towards his young unhappy client.

"Yuuta-san, gomen, I had to leave for a while," Mizuki patted his hand and then turned to beam at the reporters. "Are the questions all done then?"

"Ano, but who just called you, Yuuta-san?" One brave reporter managed to ask.

Ah, Mizuki thought, it was a phone call then. And the curly-haired boy had an idea of exactly who had called. No one could rile Yuuta up as much as his aniki.

"That's private," Yuuta muttered.

"Yuuta-san, must you act like your age?" Mizuki quickly interceded just as the reporter was about to apologise, raising his voice so everyone would hear. "It was your aniki, wasn't it?"

Murmurs broke out throughout the room as Yuuta gave Mizuki a pointed glare which the older boy happily ignored and continued to speak in a 'hushed' loud voice.

"Really now, what did he want this time? He's always calling you. That Fuji Syusuke. Can't he just be happy for you now that you've found what you really love? And it's just because you're doing better than he is." Mizuki sighed sadly at the predicament he had fabricated for the brothers.

"Gomen," Mizuki smiled bravely at everyone. "This meet-and-greet session is at its end."

With that, Mizuki ushered Yuuta quickly out of the room into a private hallway before he had to laugh.

After all, no publicity is bad publicity.

Fuji and Fuji (Dec 8, 2003, Monday -- Great Reporter Inui)

Reporters were shocked into actually deserving their Christmas bonuses this year as printing presses went into overdrive and everyone strove to uncover what might turn out to be one of the biggest entertainment scoops of the season.

During a meet and greet session with the press today, Fuji Yuuta, younger brother to World Famous Tensai Tenor Fuji Syusuke, received a telephone call from his older brother on his cellular phone. After a terse conversation, he seemed extremely out of sorts. His agent, Mizuki Hajime, was then overheard in a conversation with the rock star that revealed that the two brothers were not on good terms. Apparently, the older Fuji was upset when the younger Fuji left the classical music scene for rock and has been harassing him.

The two brothers had been in classical music since they were young. Both are well-noted musicians however, it was Fuji Syusuke who caught the eye of the world. The elder brother has always outshone the younger and although Fuji Yuuta has always been known as a credible musician with high potential, it is often rumoured that he left the classical scene solely due to the comparisons he continually received.

Okie, so actually, right now there aren't any pairings except for the golden pair (gomen, I'm stuck on them). It's not really supposed to be a romance-centric fic but, uhm, readers might find *hints*. Suke-san would be much obliged if you would mention any *hints* you would like to see heh.
