Summary: Fuji's having trouble falling asleep.  The remedy is sleeping right beside him.

At least he’s sleeping well. That is the thought that puts a smile on your lips. You glance at the clock and the red numbers read 3:00. You don’t remember when, how, or even why it happened, but before you realized it, you’ve already developed the habit of staying awake until wee hours of the morning.

But what makes you even more curious is why it doesn’t seem to be as bad as before.

You feel grateful for it anyway, so you don’t wonder any further.

You roll over and look at the person beside you. Adorable. That’s the first word that comes to your mind as your gaze travels from his (rarely) crease-free forehead, long eyelashes, cute nose (which is why you love kissing its tip), and lips which reminds you of cherry blossoms when under the daylight.

Deciding that it’s hopeless to try and sleep when you’re still feeling too awake, you prop your head on one arm to get a better view. And you smile.

Really… It’s no wonder why my camera loves you so much.

He is beautiful without question. And little by little, as he continues to grow (and you’re quietly thankful that he hasn’t reached your height yet), the charm that he possesses enchants you more and more. Sometimes, though, you can’t help but think that it’s such a waste because he is instinctively elusive to cameras. Actually, to any form of attention and people in general.

Isn’t that why, you can’t help but feel special? To most photographers, it’s an almost impossible task to take a clear shot without him practically turning his back on the camera. But not you. You can make him look and at the same time smile at the camera. While everyone is in awe, thinking ‘Ah, there’s a reason why Fuji Syusuke’s called a prodigy after all’, you can’t help but laugh. It has nothing to do with being a prodigy. The secret is simple. It only takes three words.

It’s sweet, but somewhat disappointing, because each time you say those words, he smiles. He smiles. A smile that never fails to warm your heart. But it’s only a smile after all.

He never says those three words back.

But you’re not one to give up either. Whatever reason he has, you believe that he will tell you someday. Your faith in him has never failed you, after all. Thinking about it, and thinking of asking him about it, in your mind you suddenly hear him say “Mada mada da ne”. And it makes you chuckle.

Perhaps, tomorrow he will tell you.

And you yawn.

Finally…

You lie down and close your eyes.

Somewhere on the border between half-consciousness and tired slumber, you hear a sleepy voice. “Go to sleep already, Syusuke. **” Something soft touches your lips. “…Suki da yo.”

And you feel yourself falling into the realm of dreams.

** I debated whether Ochibi-chan would still call Fuji “Fuji-senpai” or simply by his first name… But then, since they’re already a couple, “Syusuke” should be fine because it sounds cute to indicate how close they are. ^^;;
